I see you
Fire blazing
Chaos reigning
Burning bright
Unchecked
In your wake
Bridges decimated
No turning back
Alone

Fluid in movement
Reaching towards the heavens
Searching for something
Elusive
Praying for miracles
Never to be given
Weeping in the darkness
While flames lick my skin
Scorching
Burning away sins unnamed
Chaos threatening to
Overwhelm
Turning away
Spurning love
Unworthy
While secretly yearning
Whispering in dawn awakening
Despite odds overwhelming
No time left
Decision made
I will fight
I will be victorious
I will survive

You breath through me
Taking what is not yours.
Twisting it
Turning me into something I am not.
I try to banish you
Return to that which is me.
Yet at every turn you defeat me
Pulling me under
Drowning me in your rage
Your obsession
Your sorrow.
You are lost
So I must be lost with you,
But you will not win.
I will rise.
I will become who I am suppose to be.
I will break free
And you will burn
In the hell you have made.
I will rise
And you will lay at my feet
Broken
Forgotten
Never forgiven
Always alone.
I will rise.

What is one person’s weird
Is another’s crazy
We can play it safe
Live life watching every step
Keeping our feet on the ground
Saving every penny
Prudent, well behaved
Or we can jump off the cliff
Soar through the air
Throwing gold like confetti
Dancing till dawn, scandalously
Pick your poison
Eat your cake
Drink your wine
Weird or crazy
Life is sublime

This is a response to prompt #49 on the website Writing Outside the Lines.

Lost
Forgotten
Waiting for that someone
the right one
to come find me.
Waiting as the weeds grow
around me
through me
covering me until no one
can see me.
Until all that is left
are the memories of a once glorious
life.
A life filled with joy
sorrow
a little fear
and a lot of love.
Come find me
and together we will fill our memories
with all that is good
and bad
and a little in between.
Come find what is lost
before it is all forgotten
in the misty
hazy
vacuum of
time.

This is prompt #52 from the website Writing Outside the Lines.

What’s wrong, Kitten?
I don’t eat,
don’t sleep.
It must tell.
I am gaunt,
my eyes dark with exhaustion.
Don’t you see?
What’s wrong, Kitten?
I’m being suffocated.
no room to move,
to think,
to breathe.
I am standing still,
my mind unable to put together words.
Here me gasping for air?
What’s wrong, Kitten?
I need help
but I don’t know how to ask,
who to ask.
Can you tell me what to do,
where to go?
What’s wrong, Kitten?
Can’t you see!
Help me
before it’s too late!
Before he takes everything,
before I am no more.

This is from a poem I wrote in high school in poetry class. The incident actually happened. I was asked by a teacher as I walked into the classroom, “What’s wrong, Kitten?” I did not tell the teacher these things, I wrote the poem instead. Although not all of it was bad, it was slowly being suffocated. It was quite sometime before I was free. But then again, are we ever?
Do you know what I care about?
Do you even care?
Do you see past your own needs
to those suffering around you,
or are you oblivious to their joys
their sorrows
their pain.
Please tell me
for I will waste no more of my time,
my efforts,
my life,
so you can live yours without guilt
or consequence
for yours actions uncaring.

Do not push me
for I will push back
and when you finally
right yourself
hell will have rained down
upon you and yours
with a vegence none have
witness before or will
again.
So beware your actions from this moment
on
for they maybe be your
last.

Do you truely hate me that much?
Is there anyone safe from your wrath?
You chose your path.
Do not blame me
if the outcome is not what
you thought it would be.
I warned you of the consequences.
Now all you have left
is to live with them.
Take your fury,
your vengeance,
and leave here.
Never darken my doorway
again,
or the pain you feel now
will be nothing compared
to the agony you will endure
if I or any if my clan
lays eyes on you
again.
You are dead to me.
Leave or feel my wrath,
and know what true vengeance
is.

I see you
walking alone in the moonlight.
Looking for something
you will never find.
Not until you look deep inside
where secrets lie,
and you finally admit
that the person you are,
the person we see,
is real.
Believe in yourself!
Once you do
you may find
what you seek
is not as elusive
as you may think.
