What Do You Want From Me?

What do you want from me!?
Why are you there!?
Where did you come from!?
Why do you care!?
Drums to the wind
only noise in the air.
Leave me be!
My conscious is bare!
What do you
…want?
Why do you
…care?
Why am I drawn to you,
my soul remembering a life we shared?
A life shrouded in shadows,
a life seen through eyes, kaleidoscope pair.
Music to the wind,
angels singing softly through the air.
Take what you want
my heart is lost to a love beyond compare.

One of those poems that popped in my head and I have no idea where it came from. Maybe from one of the stories I’ve got stewing in the back of my head trying to get my attention.

How do I Tell Them?

“Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.” ~ William Wordsworth

I see your face

I hear your words

My heart is filled

with emotions not my own

yet still familiar

a part of me.

Who are you?

What do you want from me?

How do I trust

what is not my own?

How do I convey

what I understand as love

hate

sadness

longing

joy

so that others understand

the depth of who you are

and believe?

This poem was inspired by a writing prompt from the website Writing Outside the Lines. It made me think about my characters and trying to put into words what they are telling and showing me so that my readers see and feel it too.

Gone

Looking in
unaware I am there
wanting to be where you are
never enough
can’t live without
can’t live within
reaching for what once was
fingertips brushing air
forever out of reach
untouchable
gone.

Daily Prompt: Immerse

via Daily Prompt: Immerse

When the world is too much
when one more look
one more word
will send me over the edge
I find myself wondering
what it would be like
to immerse myself in someone else’s
life
To, for once, not have to deal with my problems
To see through another’s eyes
another’s culture
To experience something I have never experienced
before
To disappear in another world
even if only for a moment
and breathe.

Tick Tock

Tick tock

Tick tock

The clock ticks down

The minutes stop

Tick tock

Tick tock

The beast has risen

Death appears

Tick tock

Tick tock

Times up

To late for prayers
