Waiting

Labyrinth – Source: Unknown

I am here,
waiting.
No matter how much you deny me
I will always be here.
Taunting you
with what once was,
what still could be.
You will come to me,
eventually.
You cannot help yourself.
For I am the addiction
you will never defeat.
I am your life.
I am your love.
I am
your end.

Where this poem did not come to me from the picture above, I thought it was perfect for it. One of my favorite movies from my younger years.

My Addiction

They tell me to stay away

that you are no good for me.

I hear their voices,

understand their concerns,

but I cannot stay away.

You are my life,

my reason for living,

my addiction.

I could no sooner walk away

as I could stop breathing.

Prove their accusation wrong.

Show them what I see

when I look into your eyes,

your soul.

Show them that you are the one

who makes me whole,

that addiction

is not the end

but the beginning.
