A Play on Words

Your skin silky smooth

Long

Hot

Tempting me to tread

Places I know

In the end

Will haunt me

For eternity ©

I was at Red Robin waiting for my hubby to show up when and idea hit me. Why not take something in everyday life and make it sexy. I have seen this done before, but I being around all that food gave me my subject. I also wanted to see the response I would get on Twitter since no one would see the picture until after they read the poem. he he he. It was a lot of fun. 🙂

Purge My Mind

1383224_402273819895486_2105833405_n

I stare at the computer screen

Wanting…no needing to write

There is something inside me

Desperately wanting to come out

To weave that magically spell of words and emotions

Us storytellers live for

But something is stopping me

Holding me back

Turning my words into distance cries

Keeping the emotions of my thoughts

From showing me what it is they yearn to tell me

Somehow I must break this dam

Purge my mind of distractions

So the story inside of me

Can weave its magic

Spellbinding those who wish to fly away

On a journey of horror, romance, suspense

But most of all

Happy endings

My Promise to You

689661-bigthumbnail

Always together

Never apart

Whether in spirit, body or mind

In this exsitenance or the next

We will meet again

For nothing

Not even death

Will come between us

And our love

This I promise you

Help Me

photo-manipulation-05_large

You tell me you love me.

That what you do to me

Is for my own good.

That if I was only prettier

Smarter

Obedient

You would not have to do

Such horrible things to me.

As I look in the mirror,

Colors of the spectrum no one person

Should see mottling my body

Where clothes hide what others suspect.

For no one can see

What you need to do to keep me

In line.

A very small part of me,

The part that still rails against you

Cannot understand why you do this to me.

I do everything you ask

When you ask.

I am careful to keep my eyes downcast

Show no interest in another man

Another person

Yet it is never enough.

How can I escape this hell I live in

Who can help me when I can only scream

In silence.

Someone

Anyone

Please help me

Before it is too late.

Before he finally

Breaks me

Before I get too many comments, I want to let you know that this poem has nothing to do with me. I have a very loving, caring, if not at times exasperating, husband who I love very much. What inspired this poem is the name of one of my followers. I also started thinking of a couple of books and movies I have seen that talks about spousal abuse. This is what came of that musing.

I hope you all have a safe weekend, and to those trapped in this situation, please, find help and escape. No one should be treated this way.

Crumbling Walls

Thoughts forbidden

Nudge through barriers

Finding cracks and crevices

Burrowing deep

Until walls crumble to dust

Opening new holes

Releasing ambitions denied

Flooding dreams with

With fantasies bold

Until reality blurs

And destiny is born

Destiny – Love Unbound

Nexus Desktop

We join as one

Heart, body and soul

I am yours as you are mine

But we are not alone

Love encompasses those who show

Loyalty, strength

Above all willingness

To open their minds and hearts

To possibilities unbound

To love thrice found

Growing each day

New surprises as power is displayed

We learn together nothing is beyond our reach

Nothing is impossible or will be denied

So we ease into this new world

Of lies, hate, betrayal

A world where pain forges alliances

As well as foes

We will survive

With strength in numbers

With strength in mind

And above all else

With strength in love.

Do I Know You?

Do I know you?
You seem familiar.
As I stare into your eyes
so clear
I know somewhere,
some…time,
I have seen those eyes
that sees into my soul,
laying everything bare
at your feet.

Do I know you?
Oh, this is so ridicules!
I mean,
I have heard of this.
Others meeting someone,
someone they have never met before
yet somehow instantly recognize.
They call it
love at first at sight.
But that is only in fairy tales
fantasy.
None of it is real…
is it?

Do I know you?
Have we met before?
At some party,
some other place
other….time.
Can it really be true?
That we live other lives,
each one a new experience
a new lesson,
yet in those lives there is that one person,
that one soul,
who will always follow us,
waiting for that moment
when they finally find the one they seek.
Is it always like this?
So sudden,
so unexpected,
so…final?

Do I
know
you?

This was from a dream I had a while back. One where my family member that had passed on were all there. But there was one person who I did not know yet they were very familiar. Like I should know them. This poem comes from that feeling of knowing and comfort even though you may have not ever seen them before.

Believe in Love

Throughout our lives

we dream of love.

One that is pure

fulfilling

eternal.

We search

for that one person

who will fill our souls

with peace

joy

completeness.

Some of us find that love.

Build our lives around it,

full of happiness

comfort

serenity.

Some search forever.

Seeking that one who will

fill the void in their heart

that aches with loneliness

anger

dispair.

Never realizing that in order

to love another,

you must first learn

to love yourself.

You must be brave

strong

accepting

to the possibility that

pain is a part

of love.

Love is there

if you only open yourself

to the idea

even though it is not

perfect,

it is real,

and it is yours for the taking

if you only

believe.

Makes Me Happy

To write

Put into words what I see

What I feel

To watch the words form on paper

To weave a tale

That excites the mind

Takes the reader to a place

Far from their existence

Into a world of make believe

Where monsters bring evil

And white knights wield light.

Where love is true

Forgiving

Always bending

Binding

Never judging

Demanding

Encompassing those who

Are willing

No matter the price

To give everything

Anytime

Anywhere

Forever

To weave a such a tale

Is what makes me

Me

What makes me happy.
