Not Alone

1208286-200

When the hits keep coming

How do I keep upright

When all I want is to lay down?

How do I win

When all is against me?

How do I learn to love

When my heart is shattered?

My faith is hanging by a thread,

Fingers bloody and torn.

It would be easy to let go,

Fall into darkness

Let despair swallow me whole.

Light extinguished for all time.

Remember you are not alone.

There are those who have suffered

Felt the despair

The grief

The loneliness.

Learn what time has taught them.

Learn life goes on

Though it feels like the end.

Learn that when faith seems shattered

It is only around the bend,

Waiting for you to reclaim.

And most of all

Remember

You are not alone

  1. Like this one very much, it´s up lifting and well written. You made my day, I needed some lifting up today. So I´m not alone. Good things you have on your blog. Nice Kelly stopped by my blog or otherwise I wouldn´t be reading all these new things.

By the way the Friday writing prompts are quite cool and useful.

    1. I’m glad you found us.hope to see you next week. A friend of mine was having a really hard week and I wanted him to know he wasn’t alone. This poem is a result of that. I’m happy out helped you too. 🙂

      1. Unfortunately next week I´ll be spending christmas time with my uncle at the hospital, so I´ll be in a writing hiatus for some time. But hope you guys don´t forget me when I´m back. I´ll be back, as Mr. Arnie would say.

      2. We´ll do.
I´ll try to see if we have some little time to get back on line a read you guys.
But I still have all day today! to write my things and then read you great writers.
